  Notes	In Galveston, History Of The Island And City 1879, by Charles W. Hays, Andrew Baldinger's biography mentions that he arrived in Baltimore in 1831 and "apprenticed himself to C. A. Medenger, a prominent baker, to learn the trade. After serving faithfully until he had thoroughly mastered his trade, he worked for Medenger until the Texas Revolution broke out." After scanning Baltimore City Directories between 1831 and 1837, I've come to believe that "C. A. Medenger" is much more likely to be Christopher Adam Medinger, since no one by the name "Medenger" can be found in those directories. The only reason I've put any effort into nailing this down is the possibility that a descendant of Christopher Adam Medinger might have found some reference to Andrew in their research efforts.
